About the Nepali Patro
GojiPatro is a Nepali patro (पात्रो) — a Bikram Sambat calendar that shows today's Nepali date alongside its Gregorian equivalent. The month view marks Nepal's public holidays, festivals and observances, so you can see Dashain, Tihar, Shivaratri and the rest of the year at a glance, and jump to any month from BS 2000 onward.
Bikram Sambat (BS) is Nepal's official calendar. It runs roughly 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Gregorian (AD) calendar, so most of 2026 AD falls in BS 2082 and 2083. BS month lengths are not fixed — they vary between 29 and 32 days and change from year to year — which is why a Nepali date cannot be converted with simple arithmetic. GojiPatro uses the official month-length tables for every supported year.
The Nepali new year begins on 1 Baisakh, which usually falls in mid-April. The twelve months are Baisakh, Jestha, Ashadh, Shrawan, Bhadra, Ashwin, Kartik, Mangsir, Poush, Magh, Falgun and Chaitra.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is today's Nepali date?
Today's Bikram Sambat date is shown at the top of the calendar above and highlighted in the month grid. It is calculated in Nepal Time (NPT, UTC+5:45), so it rolls over at midnight in Kathmandu regardless of where you are viewing from.
What is Bikram Sambat?
Bikram Sambat is the official calendar of Nepal, used for government records, holidays and everyday life. It is about 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Gregorian calendar — so BS 2083 corresponds to 2026–27 AD. Each BS year has twelve months whose lengths are set by astronomical calculation rather than a fixed pattern.
How do I convert a Nepali date to English (BS to AD)?
Use the Nepali date converter, which handles both directions — BS to AD and AD to BS — using official month-length tables. Enter any Bikram Sambat date and it returns the exact Gregorian date and the day of the week.
How many days are in a Nepali month?
Between 29 and 32 days, depending on the month and the year. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the pattern is not repeatable — Jestha may have 31 days one year and 32 the next — so accurate conversion requires a lookup table for every year rather than a formula.
Which holidays does the patro show?
The month view marks Nepal's gazetted public holidays along with major festivals and observances. Festivals whose dates are set by lunar calculation and are not fixed in the government gazette are listed separately, with a note that the exact date varies by community.
Is GojiPatro free to use?
Yes. The calendar and every tool — date converter, age calculator, income tax calculator and forex rates — are free, require no sign-up, and work on mobile and desktop.
